Multimodal Presentation
Synopsis of Multimodal Presentation
For my multimodal presentation I chose photojournalist Steve McCurry. His works focus on landscapes, traditional cultures, modern society, conflict in war. In most of his photos, he likes to capture the lifestyle of different cultures people within the specific environment. He also travel to places like Tibet, Afghanistan, Yemen. In my video, I introduce two photo galleries of him, one of them is about child soldiers, another one is about his landscape works. Through his photos, we can understand what is happening in the other part of this world, and the feeling he wants to give us.
My New Perception of Photography
Steve McCurry has shown how powerful the picture could be to combine the nature and human being. This is a part which I always thinking about, sometimes we just take photos of the nature view, sometimes we just focus on human being. How to combine both of the element in one photo to make the picture more powerful and contains more information is the most difficult point. Steve McCurry is very successful in combine this two element in his photos through various ways, I really enjoy his photo which has a small person in the bottom center part of whole big view of landscape. His composition of pictures are always amazing for me, and make me thinking.
